About my street photography workshops.

My workshops are designed to be informative and relaxed, they will stretch your imagination and push you outside of your comfort zone, develop your skills and boost your confidence. Whilst a small element of the workshop is theory-based, I don’t get bogged down with technicalities, though I do give you a comprehensive grounding in the essentials such as camera settings, composition, lighting and the ethics and law of street photography. Most of our time together is spent shooting on the streets of Melbourne, learning by experience, understanding what makes a good picture and ensuring that you capture ‘the moment’, with plenty of individual, hands-on tuition.

A little about me I have been shooting professionally for over 27 years carrying my camera with humour, compassion and curiosity, my work has been published right across Australia in countless magazines, newspapers and websites and I recently had my first book published by The Five Mile Press 'Little Big Town' a photographic journey down Melbourne's little streets and laneways. I have a passion for street photography and photojournalism, telling stories through images. I am a member and past President of MAPgroup (Many Australian Photographers), a non-profit association of around forty photographers who share a passion and commitment to high quality, independent documentary image making. A number of my photos are held in the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra and the National Library of Australia.
